North Avondale Montessori School is hosting Jump Rope For Heart from Monday, February 2nd through Friday, February 27th.  Jump Rope For Heart is a community service learning program of the American Heart Association. It teaches kids:
The importance of developing heart-healthy habits;
Being physically active can be fun
·By supporting research and education they help save lives across the country and in their community.


CPS Hosts Community Conversation Highlighting Early Literacy
The Cincinnati community is invited to a Community Conversation on January 27 for discussion and information about strengthening young students’ reading skills and Ohio’s Third Grade Reading Guarantee.  The event, sponsored by Parents for Public Schools of Greater Cincinnati, will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, at Mt. Airy School  Parents and community members are invited to participate.
Ohio’s Third Grade Reading Guarantee is a program to identify students who are behind in reading skills in kindergarten through third grade. In Cincinnati Public Schools, teachers provide intensive help to assure all students are on track for reading success before moving up to fourth grade. Parents will hear about how the district works with students to improve reading skills and receive tips on how parents can help their children become better readers.

Hughes STEM High School is hosting the 6th Grade Annual Open House Recruitment February 5, 2015 from 5:30pm-7:00pm


AN EPIC TALENT SHOW & DINNER – January 30th from 5:30-8:00 pm in the cafetorium. Come witness for yourself the vast talent of NAM students while supporting our 6th Grade Washington DC Trip! Dinner includes spaghetti, bread, salad, drink, dessert. Tickets: $5 per person with a $20 per family max. Can be purchased at the door or pre-sale through any 6th grader. (Performers do not have to purchase a ticket, but anyone coming to see the show must pay to attend.)
ALL PERFORMERS MUST STAY AFTER SCHOOL FRIDAY for the run-through (this is in place of the run-through that was previously announced for Thursday). Students should bring a snack and something to keep them busy while they wait for their turn. If applicable, please remind your children to bring their music (preferably on a CD).


VALENTINE CRAFT NIGHT – February 6th, 5:00-7:00pm.
Come to NAM and make valentines FOR your friends WITH your friends! We provide the supplies and DINNER – Free pizza and salad will be served until 6 pm. Clean-up help appreciated. Questions? Contact Angie Dangerfield at kirklands@fuse.net or 258-3997.


YEARBOOK EDITORS NEEDED.
Work is underway on NAM’s first yearbook! We need some parents or others to help with yearbook editing. Involves checking on name spellings, looking for double photos, proofing pages. For very observant people. You can choose which level you want to edit (3-6, 6-9 and/or 9-12) or help with overall editing. If interested, contact Bridget McComas at mccomas_bridget@yahoo.com.
Watch for yearbook sale coming February 4th! Limited quantities available, so you’ll have to act fast!


The Walnut Hills Cheerleaders would like to invite boys and girls between K-8th grade to join us for a fun filled day of cheerleading!!! Participants will learn several sideline cheers and a dance, as well as cheer along side the Walnut Cheerleaders during the Friday Night Basketball Game! Join them and learn how it’s done! It’ll be lots of fun, so you don’t want to miss it!
All participants are invited to perform along side the Walnut Cheerleaders during HALFTIME of the game played Friday, February 13th against Milford. This game begins at 7:30pm at Walnut Hills High School Gym. Camp Information Dates: Sunday, February 8th Times: 1pm-4pm Location: Walnut Hills High School Gym (1515 Jonathan Ave. 45207)
Camp Fee: $30 **This includes a t-shirt to wear during the performance and a light snack
