Dear Parents/Guardians,
We will be hosting Parent/Teacher conference night on Thursday, October 2, 2014
from 4 PM to 7 PM. The purpose of the Parent/Teacher conference is for you, the teacher
and your child to review your child’s progress. As we reach the midpoint of first quarter,
please take advantage of this time to meet with your child’s teacher and discuss any
concern/success you may have at this time.
If you have a preference on a certain time to conference, I encourage you to contact your
child’s teacher as soon as possible to schedule an appointment. Conferences times will be
determined by your child’s teacher. By all of us working together we are able to provide the
best academic and artistic education for your child.

ATTN: 6TH Grade Parents
The Walnut Hills High School Student Shadowing registration opens October 1 on the
WHHS website. What is shadowing? Sixth grade students who are prospective Walnut
Hills students can shadow a seventh grade Walnut Hills student for the school day to better
understand the WHHS experience. Please note that per the WHHS website, only students
who have registered to take the Entrance Exam will be candidates to shadow on selected
days during the months of November 2014, January 2015 and February 2015. However,
note that all students are registered to take the Walnut Hills Entrance Exam,
NAM students will take the exam the week of Oct 13th so they are eligible for shadowing.
These spots fill quickly, so register early!
FALL FESTIVAL: coming FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17th, 5-8 pm.
Fall Festival is a LONG-standing tradition at NAM … a fun-filled night celebrating Fall,
complete with free carnival games, crafts & more! Classroom parents plan & staff the
booths. Food & beverages for sale.
HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP MAKE THIS TRADITION HAPPEN:
1. ASSIST THE PLANNING COMMITTEE. Various tasks still need completed behind the scenes.
2. SIGN-UP to SET UP or CLEAN UP. Set-up: 1-5pm. Come for ½ hour or whatever works for you.
Clean-up: 8-8:30 pm – many hands make light work!
3. SIGN UP to BAKE for BAKE SALE.
4. SUPPORT YOUR CLASSROOM BOOTH. Contact your Room Parent to assist with planning,
and/or sign up to work a shift. (Room Parents, sign up for your class’s booth at

PTO meeting next Tuesday, October 7th in NAM’s Cafetorium, 6-7 pm. FREE childcare provided. Join
the conversation about what’s coming at NAM, and find out how you can be involved! Our major items

NAM Market Day
November is Bonus Days. What is bonus day: it is a month chosen by Market Day to help
schools/organization earn extra profit.
November bonus days is desserts, choose from a variety of pies. Products description and photos are
available in the insert located in the order form or online at marketday.com. Place your dessert and
grocery order today and have your delicious pies just in time for the holidays. Our goal is to sale 100
pies which will help NAM earn an extra 30% profit.
Look for November order forms in your child NAM Rocket folder or place an online order at

Order forms are due back in the office by Friday October 17th, online order due October 22nd
