Severe Weather Procedure – The Cincinnati Public Schools’ severe weather procedure aims to minimize the loss of
instructional time while being mindful of students’ and employees’ safety.
When severe weather is predicted, parents should check the CPS Website, www.cps-k12.org, or local television or radio stations, for school closings or delays.
CPS rarely will dismiss schools early, but it does happen occasionally. Please make sure your child’s school office has correct emergency contact information.
We know that no-school days (“snow days”) and delays represent an inconvenience to parents, so we do our best to declare them only when necessary.
Schools Closed
Decisions to close schools are made only after analyzing much data and expert opinions.
After reviewing all information available, the superintendent consults with senior staff and makes a decision as early as possible (usually by 5 a.m.).
Two-hour Delay – Elementary Schools:
Yellow buses (which transport elementary school students only) will pick up students at morning bus stops two hours later than normal.
Students may arrive at schools within the two-hour window. School staff will be in the buildings at the normal start times to supervise students.
Afternoon dismissal will occur at each elementary school’s normal time.

Grandparents Day Tuesday, November 25, 2014 8:15-10:15 a.m.

Grandparents and special adults are invited to see what makes our school an excellent
place to learn. They can enjoy refreshments and a short program in the cafetorium,
followed by a visit with their grandchildren in the classrooms!

Congrats to: Ms. Rein Forrest & class for having the most student at the NAM skating party at the Fun Factory Skating Rink. The class won a pizza party!

Thank you to everyone who has donated shoes for reuse so far—the boxes are filling up!
We’ll continue to collect for ShoeBox through December. Some recycling facts:
Recycling is part of our children’s Culture curriculum
Each year over 200 Million shoes are landfilled
It takes over 200 years before a sneaker even starts to break down in a landfill
Used shoes are in great demand in developing countries
Recycled shoes create jobs and fuel local economies both here and abroad

Please encourage your students to support the Food Drive for the Free Store Food Bank.
Bring in non-perishable canned and boxed items to fill the cans.
The last time we conducted a canned food drive we collected close to two tons of food! .
Thanks in advance for your support of student council and our canned food drive.
Barrels will be in our building through December 12th.

We regret to say that the NAM Directory will not happen this year. For the directory to be
available for next year, we need a Directory Coordinator. The NAM Directory is a vital tool for
connecting the families in our NAM community! Involves data entry and editing in Microsoft
Excel and takes approximately 150 hours to produce – but it’s not difficult. Jeff Hammond can
pass on his 7 years of experience in creating the document, and he will train and support you.
If interested, contact PTO at namspto@namrockets.org.
