NAM’s First Fall Working Bee

The NAM PTSO will sponsor a yard clean-up at our school on Saturday November 3rd, 9am to 11am, followed by meaty and meatless chili offerings for our busy working bee volunteers. Bring your own tools: weeder, shovel, rake, gloves, brooms etc. We’ll provide the bags for cleanup. (We’ll have some extra gloves for kids and grown ups but please dress for the weather and to get dirty!) This is a great opportunity for students & parents to contribute in a positive way and help clean up our school grounds! No green thumb is needed, but children will need a responsible adult/family member to help them. Grandparents, neighbors and friends of NAM are welcome too. Please help us put the NAMS’ gardens to bed for the winter in preparation for a more beautiful spring!

Every bit counts! Please spread the word and RSVP at:

Virtue of the Month for October: Responsibility

10/24/18

From the Desk of the Principal

Dear Students and Parents,

I want to thank all of our parents and former NAM students for working our Fall Festival. Without your help we could not have hosted this event. I know our students had a wonderful time and appreciate your contributions. I want to recognize Ms. Sarah O, chairperson for this year’s Fall Festival, for the remarkable job she did organizing the event. Also as we go through the remainder of the school year, please consider being a part of our PTSO or NAM Foundation. We always welcome parents to chair different events such as Grandparents Day in November, NAM Talent show in January, NAM Family Day in March and Field Day in May. Shadowing takes place Monday through Thursday on school days in November, January and February.

Student Council

Greetings!!! Student council is hosting a Halloween dance for fourth through sixth graders on Friday, October 26th here at school in the gym from 4-6 pm. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, October 5th. I along with student council members will have tickets available to be purchased. Tickets are $2.00 in advance and will be $2.50 if purchased at the door the day of the dance. 9-12 teachers will give a permission slip to students who want to purchase tickets. Sign the bottom portion of the slip and return it to school so that I am aware that you have knowledge of your child staying after school that day and to ensure that you will be providing their transportation home afterwards. Students are allowed to wear costumes to the dance but not to school. A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will go to our NAM fuel the Rocket campaign. Thanks in advance for your support of student council. Also, don’t forget that Wednesday, October 31st is student council’s wear orange and black day! Mrs. Shockley-Matthews

Have a Great Week!!!!!
