Severe weather procedures: There’s an App for That! Stay in touch with Cincinnati Public Schools by downloading the new mobile app alert, available for both Apple and Android..

When severe weather is predicted or occurs, parents should check out the CPS website or local television and radio stations for announcements about school closings or delays. Please make sure the school office has the correct emergency contact information.

Illness: The flu season is upon us. Please be vigilant about washing your hands and having your students wash their hands often. Be sure to practice proper cough etiquette (coughing into elbow or tissue that may be discarded). Also remember to keep your student home with any fevers, vomiting or diarrhea for at least 24 hours after the last episode.

School hours – Arrival and dismissal times: Doors to the building will open at 7:25 a.m. The school day ends at 2:15 p.m.  All students will be dismissed at this time using dismissal plans in place. Unless your child is a part of the CRC after care or is in designated after school club, students are to be picked up from school grounds no later than 2:20 p.m. Teachers are able to leave after student dismissal at 2:30 p.m. and as a result, there is no staff to monitor students.

Attention 6th grade parents – Registration for High School begins Feb 17th.

NAM parents,

As you know the NAM talent show is coming up soon. It will be on Friday, January 30th.  With that being said, we are in need of desserts to serve. If you are willing and able to contribute one or two desserts that will be very much appreciated. This is a great opportunity to support our 6th grade Washington, D.C. trip. Please contact Elonda Dudley via mail: elondadudley@gmail.com or you may call or text(513) 516-7235.

The 6th grade Recognition Ceremony Committee is requesting that you provide ONE baby picture of your 6th grader, as well as ONE current photo, that will be included in the 6th Grade Video.  The video will be shown during the Recognition Ceremony.  Electronic copies are preferred and can be emailed to John and Stephanie Cooper at coopisters@gmail.com .

Please make sure the photos you send are solo shots with just your child appearing in both the baby and current photos.

For hard copies:  please send pictures in an envelope with the student’s name, your name, and your phone number clearly marked on the PICTURES AND the ENVELOPE.  All pictures will be returned to you after the video is completed.  Hard copies of pictures can only be turned in to your child’s 6th Grade Homeroom teachers.

If you have any pictures of current NAM 6th Graders participating in different school activities over the years, feel free to include those as well.

Please send pictures AS SOON AS POSSIBLE but no later than Monday, February 2nd

On Saturday, 1-10-15, the NAM LEGO team competed at the iSPACE Jr. FLL League Official Exposition held at the iSPACE Science and Technology Center located at the Scarlet Oaks Campus.  FLL is the acronym for First LEGO League.  FLL is for ages 9-12.  Jr FLL is for ages 6-9. We were the only urban school represented.  We enjoyed exceptionally strong parent support all year. The mission of Jr. FLL is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills. that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities.  Each year Jr. FLL’s national organizers announce a learning theme.  This year’s theme was “Think tank.”   Our LEGO model demonstrated the use of these simple machines on a playground.

The NAM LEGO team won the team award “Lil Geniuses” for  demonstrated mastery of the subject. This is our second year of competing.  Last year’s team won an award for “Teamwork.”  Congratulations to Coach Jacek Biesiada.  Team members and coaches are as follows: Jan Biesiada, Natalie Lassiter, Cecilia Parker, Lena Parker, Maria Pratt, Will Pratt,
