Dear Parents and Students!!
In the best interest of our students, the NAM talent show was postponed last Friday. The event has been rescheduled for Friday, March 8, 2019. The parent volunteers recommended to me that we go in this direction. There were several factors in making this decision but the main reason being that we needed more time to prepare our students. As I receive more information for the March 8th event I will convey the messages to you via Weekly Rocket, Schoology, and Robo calls.
Also as a reminder parents if you call the school to report a students absence/tardy your child will still receive a call from the School Messenger Robo Call system stating that they are absent from school. This is a automotive system used throughout the district that we do not control.

Brain Bowl
On Thursday January 31st, 2019, our NAM Brain Bowl Team will play at Fairview.
Valentine Grams
Student council will be selling “Valentine Grams” the week of February 5th – February 12th. Students will be allowed to write a message with a treat attached to a friend, family member or NAM Staff. Grams will be passed out on February 14th. Valentine Grams can be purchased from any student council member or from Mrs. Shockley-Matthews in room 1224 for .75 cents or two for $1.25. Profits will go towards student council. Additionally, if anyone would like to donate a bag of Valentine candy like medium sized suckers or chocolates to assist student council with this endeavor it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Winter Wonderland Family Dance
On February 9th, 2019 from 1 pm- 3 pm NAM will host the Winter Wonderland Family Dance. Please see the attached flier for additional details.
NAM-Soccer
NAM Soccer Families: Registration is now open for Spring 2019 SAY Soccer. Registration will be open now through January 31 at this site: https://sports.bluesombrero.com/NASAY Teams can fill up fast, and sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis. Sign up quickly to ensure your child’s slot! The youngest birth date for this season is 7/31/2013. Practices are usually once or twice per week at coaches discretion. NAM Positive School Culture
The NAM Positive School Culture Committee sponsors an honorary Principal’s Breakfast each month. Teachers recognize one student from each class who has shown positive qualities in the classroom such as effort, improvement, and leadership. (Please see the attached flier for the selections for the month of December)
Parent Volunteers
We are in need of a 6th Grade Recognition Night Chairperson (or co-chairpeople). Typically a 4th or 5th grade parent “pays it forward” and serves as the event chair so that the 6th grade parents can enjoy the special night honoring their child. You won’t be in this alone – instructions will be provided! Please consider volunteering to be the chairperson for this wonderful tradition. Anyone interested should email linnae.kendall@gmail.com.
