10/10/18
From the Desk of the Principal
Dear Students and Parents,

One of my goals is to provide our students with educational experiences outside the classroom. Our 3 to 6 age level will visit Children’s Theater next week to watch the play “Superman”. On 10/12/18 they will also have a presentation here at the school from “Keep Cincinnati Beautiful”.

Our 6 to 9 age level students have seen a presentation from Duke Energy, seen the play “Jungle Book” performed by actors from Playhouse in the Park, and just saw “Jack and the Wonder Beans” at the Aronoff.

The 9 to 12 age level students have volunteered at the Giving Fields to harvest crops for the Free Store Food Bank. They will also be attending Matthew Ministries in November to volunteer their time. I am proud of our students for serving our community.

The activities I listed are just for October and November. We have many more experiences outside the classroom for all of our students. Please also keep in mind that the Civic Garden Club has been having garden classes at school that have been taking place since the beginning of school.

Box Tops

The time is now! Please have your child turn in valid* Box Tops to the classroom.  Clark students will be assisting in the sorting next week, so we would love to have plenty on hand for them to count by Monday, October 15th.

Box Tops do expire, so be sure to get them in on time so NAM can be credited!

Last year we earned over $700 for our school with the Box Tops program!  Thank you for your continued support and participation.

North Avondale Storybook Pumpkin Incentive

It’s fall. The leaves are changing. It’s getting cooler outside. We can’t let that bring us down at NAM. Why not have some fun and decorate a pumpkin of a character of a storybook. Let’s join Mrs. P. Simpson in the storybook character pumpkin incentive. Please see the attached flier below for details.
Student Council
Greetings!!! Student council is hosting a Halloween dance for fourth through sixth graders on Friday, October 26th here at school in the gym from 4-6 pm. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, October 5th. I along with student council members will have tickets available to be purchased. Tickets are $2.00 in advance and will be $2.50 if purchased at the door the day of the dance. 9-12 teachers will give a permission slip to students who want to purchase tickets. Sign the bottom portion of the slip and return it to school so that I am aware that you have knowledge of your child staying after school that day and to ensure that you will be providing their transportation home afterwards. Students are allowed to wear costumes to the dance but not to school. A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will go to our NAM fuel the Rocket campaign. Thanks in advance for your support of student council. Also, don’t forget that Wednesday, October 31st is student council’s wear orange and black day! Mrs. Shockley-Matthews

Have a Great Week!!!!!
